iLIKA has several research projects, with emphasis on areas related to the understanding about the mechanisms involved in the development of diseases, as well as methods for diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in global diseases. Furthermore, iLIKA develops projects that apply technologies, as well as mathematical and computational fundamentals, to find solutions for issues with  local, regional, national and global impact.

iLIKA indicators regarding Research, Development & Innovation are demonstrated through the publication of articles, books and patents. The awards are part of the recognition of RD&I developed at iLIKA, motivating research groups to increasingly seek more resources and partnerships, also providing the training of highly qualified professionals for their careers, whether in the academic or business sphere.
