Graduate Program in Applied Biology to Health (PPGBAS)
The Graduate Program in Applied Biology to Health (PPGBAS), offering both Master’s and Doctoral degrees, was initially based at the Keizo Asami Immunopathology Laboratory (LIKA) of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). On April 25, 2022, LIKA achieved ICT status and was renamed the Keizo Asami Institute - iLIKA.

PPGBAS received approval from CAPES with an initial rating of 05.

LIKA became a Supplementary Body of UFPE due to its multidisciplinary, interdepartmental, and interinstitutional nature. Researchers, primarily from the departments of the Center for Biological Sciences and the Center for Health Sciences at UFPE, were allocated to LIKA without losing their essential connection to their original departments. This ensured they maintained crucial contact with undergraduate and graduate students. This logic continues under the Keizo Asami Institute - iLIKA.
