O Departamento de Física (DF) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) realiza nesta sexta-feira (11) o colóquio “Topological states out of equilibrium: From Floquet topological states to the search of topological states in non-Hermitian lattices”.

Topological arguments have reshaped our understanding of condensed matter physics. New research fronts keep feeding our curiosity while pushing boundaries. In this talk, after an introduction to topological states in condensed matter, I will give an overview of our research on two of such fronts, both within the broader context of topological states in non-equilibrium systems [1]: (i) the search for topological states generated by strong light-matter interaction (Floquet topological states), and (ii) the search for topological states in non-hermitian lattices. Both cases could be classified within the broader context of topological states in non-equilibrium systems.
