O Departamento de Física da UFPE promove amanhã (27), às 14h, no auditório do Departamento de Física, o Seminário de Ótica com o título “Fundamentals and applications of Interferometric Scattering”. O evento será apresentado pelo professor Leonardo Menezes (DF/UFPE).

Resumo

The interferometric scattering – iScat – is a very simple technique which relies on the smart illumination of single nanoscopic particles, usually placed on a coverslip, and on the clever detection of the interference fringes resulting from the excitation field reflected by the coverslip and the field scattered by the nanoparticle. In this talk, we will show which kind of experimental setup can be used for implementing such a technique, discuss technical problems and solutions related to increasing the technique sensitivity and give examples of applications.
